Sand and Gravel Can do more for your
Construction Project than you Might Expect

Sand and gravel have many uses in construction, including as an aggregate for concrete

Concrete is typically made by mixing cement with water and sand or gravel.

The mixture should be well-combined but not too wet because if the concrete is too wet when it’s placed in a mold, it will take on an uneven shape.

It takes time for concrete to cure after being mixed  – you’ll need to wait about four hours before even attempting to walk on your project!

When using sand and gravel as aggregate for concrete:

You can use one type of material like silica sand; however, this may reduce the strength of the final product. Sand from other sources has different properties that are worth considering depending on what you’re building–it might work better than regular old beach sand for your specific project! If you want to get technical, you can use a mixture of different sands.

You may also want to consider using gravel as the aggregate for your concrete because it will add strength and durability. You’ll need more gravel than sand in order to provide adequate reinforcement–about two parts gravel per one part sand is recommended.

For this project, I used about three-quarters of soil with an equal ratio of cement mixed together and then added water in small batches until it was just wet enough not to dry out or fall apart when mixed up but still able to be moved without making a mess everywhere.

I created my mold by laying down some cardboard on the ground and adding pudding cups around the perimeter so that they would act as supports for where I wanted my wall to be.

I then dumped my dry mixture into the mold and came back with a watering can to pour water along the side of the cardboard, making sure that all areas had wet enough concrete.

Gravel is often used on roads to help with drainage
